The History of Undergraduate Program in Management
Undergraduate Program in Management (UPM), Faculty of Business and Economics, Universitas Islam Indonesia (FBE UII) was founded by on March 10, 1948, as one of pioneering program in UII. UPM FBE UII first obtained Registered Status on November 19, 1962, and its status was recognized on December 14, 1962. In order to face the globalization era, in 1996 UPM FBE UII offered the first International Program in Indonesia (IP) with an international standard curriculum, international mobility opportunity, and an exceptional character-building program.
In terms of quality recognition, the Undergraduate Program in Management (UPM FE UII) has been accredited by the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT) with the highest grade “A” (excellent) since 1998, and it has continued to maintain that rank until the last re-accreditation process in 2018. In addition, based on the MIX Marketing Communications Magazine survey, UPM received the 2013 Indonesia Best School of Management award in the A accreditation category of Private University.
Regarding international collaboration, UPM FBE UII develops mutual partnerships, including dual degree programs with a number of reputable overseas universities, such as University of Queensland (Australia), Saxion University of Applied Sciences (the Netherlands), Solbridge International School of Business (South Korea), Nanjing Xiaozhuang University (China), University of Western Australia, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Universiti Putra Malaysia, and Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. Along with the dual degree program, UPM FE UII also offers short-term programs and immersion programs, such as Passage to ASEAN, AISEC, and summer or winter programs.
Currently, the UPM FBE UII has 52 full-time faculty members, consisting of 1 lecturer, 39 assistant professors, 11 associate professors, and 1 professor. They are divided into four interest groups, namely finance, marketing, operations, and human resources. The are more or less 400 new student enrolled annually. Foreign students have also been enrolled since the establishment of the double degree program and full degree program. In addition, we have more than 13,500 alumni across Indonesia, and some of them have strategic positions in multinational companies, state-owned enterprises and governmental organizations.
